JOB START KIT

For many students at PGIC, working in Australia forms part of their overseas experience.

Students with a working-holiday VISA and who intend to work in Australia during their stay have the option of joining our Job-Start Kit...

So what is Job-Start Kit?

Job-Start Kit is a FREE weekly session with our CPs Greg & Renee.

Held every Wednesday during both lunch-breaks, Greg & Renee will be there to assist you with important aspects of working in Australia (eg. applying for a Tax File Number, how to create an impressive Resume for potential employers etc.).

We have now also incorporated information so you will know how much you SHOULD be paid per hour, as well as your rights as an employee.

To sign up for this very helpful session, just look for the sign-up sheet on the student noticeboard (near Gareth's desk) and write your name!

there was not a lot of speed in their walking,

but they got there eventually.

AUSSIE FOOD TASTING

KANGAROO, POSSUM, EMU, CROCO-DILE (where's m' breakfast?)...

Ok, well maybe the possum, emu & the crocodile didn't happen this time around, but the Kangaroo sausages certainly went down a treat again at the Aussie Food Tasting activity.

John, Kaspar & Nadia kept morale high amongst the students with an array of treats that included Nutella & pikelets, lamingtons and Vegemite on crackers.

If you missed out this time around, don't forget that it will all be happening again this session.

Cooking Club: Session 7 Week 4

Pre-Intermediate Cooking Club was once again a great success this week! The budding Master Chefs among us decided to give pizzas a challenge this week, and the result was even better than expected.

Sharp knives and Amy are not a safe mix.

There was a small scare, but nothing a neon band-aid couldn't fix. Smiles all around.

There was a side of salad and garlic bread also prepared!

And with four pizzas in the oven, there was even more food than could be eaten!

After finishing up, a few games of Mario Kart Wii and a few bottles of beer were called for, so the fun went on until late at night. If you haven't tried out this new activity, it's definitely worth a shot!

Every Tuesday, there are FREE guitar lessons for PGIC students. Just think, if you come to PGIC for 6 months, when you go home, you should be able to play the guitar like Carlos Santana.

Research Project


The VET Class at PGIC has just started a marketing project with XXXX Beer. They have been studying International Trade and needed to see XXXX in production as part of their research.

The class have been studying the possibility of introducing XXXX to the Chinese market.

XXXX beer is one of Australia's most popular selling beers, but currently doesnt have any distribution to China.

Simon and his VET class get ready to catch a train to Milton.

New activity at PGIC

Wednesday afternoons on Week 2 and Week 4.

Have fun learning how to cook Western style meals.






After class, students now have the chance to learn some good cooking techniques. Some of the CP's Jesse, Simon, Amy-Maree and Kaspar have been opening their kitchens to cook up big meals for the students.


After some quick shopping and a bus ride, its time to get busy cooking. There is usually a recipe, but Simon (the renegade) often adds a few ingredients. Its all that expernience he has cooking at a West End Pizza Store. Part time chef, part time gardener, master of all ...











Some of the favorites have been pizza, cake and spaghetti bolgnaise. We are still waiting for the Aussie meats, like Emu and Kangaroo to be requested!
