Last night a Kangaroo sausage saved my life

AUSSIE FOOD TASTING

Amy Maree and Lourdes cooked lots of different food for all the students to enjoy.
Read the story below ...

Australia doesn't have the long, long history and tradition of Korea, Japan or Taiwan.
We've only been a country for just over 200 years - and a lot of our culture comes from the British.
So when we say 'Aussie food', is it really Australian?

Well, we thought about that for a long time - and realised that there are some foods that can be considered 'Australian'...

You know those big hairy animals that bounce around our country?
You can see them at Lone Pine Sanctuary. And we also eat them.
The students were able to sample the fine and subtle tastes of Kangaroo, along with lamingtons, Vegemite sandwiches and more.

Along with Kangaroo, we can also eat other animals such as crocodile, possum and emu.
In fact, if you're an adventurous eater, you could go and visit the famous Tukka restaurant in West End.
'Tucker' is Aussie slang for 'food', and this restaurant make gourmet dishes of Kangaroo, Possum, Crocodile, Emu and Wallaby.

to find about more about the restuaurant, visit http://www.tukkarestaurant.com.au

In the meantime, tell us what you thought about the 'Aussie Food Tasting' activity...
